Lesson Program:
Our Lesson Program is run at the "Bottom Barn" the adress is 244 S Sandy Hill Road Coatesville PA 19320.
We start with a private lesson for all riders. If there is minimal (or no) experience, we will start with several private lessons. As you or your rider begin to gain experience we can then move to semi-private lessons. There are some groups available (when qualified) on the weekends. Your Teacher will determine when the rider is qualifed for semi -private or group lessons. This is for the saftey of all riders and horses.
Riding Attire: Horseback riding clothes are nice but not required. If you have long pants and a comfortable shirt we can get you started. We do recommend having a closed toe shoe with a heel. At Book Family Farm we will offer helmets to all riders who do not have their own. But please don’t feel the need to run out and buy any for a first lesson. If you decide you want to keep with it, then you can invest in boots/ helmet.
*Boots and helmets make great gifts for your Rider*
When booking your lesson, we ask that you provide the height and weight for you or your rider in the notes. We ask this so we can have you and your horse appropriately matched for the saftey of horse and rider.
We teach in both Western and English, please state which you are looking to learn when booking the lesson.
If online booking inst your thing, feel free to give us a call at 610-857-9127, Please note that it may take some time to return your call as we are out with the horses and not always next to the phone. When leaving a Voicemail please state your name, number, and what you are trying to book.
We ask that you park in the stone area and do NOT pull forward into the grass fields. If you would like to watch your Rider in the lesson we have benches you can sit on outside the Ring.
While we do have an outdoor ring, we ride all year around. If you can saftley get here, we can ride. You will want to have yourself or your rider dressed for the elements. Winter gloves with grips on the inside of the hand are great for keeping your hands warm while allowing you to keep contact with your reins.
If you need to cancel, that is okay, we understand things come up. Please call us asap to let us know. If you are leaving a VM please state your riders full name, time and date of lesson. We can then figure out how to make up your "missed" Lesson.
